Jefferson County High School student Rihanna Ladd has earned first place in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition, a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional artistic talent from high school students across the congressional district.

Rihanna’s winning piece, titled Tiger Close Up, captured judges’ attention with its striking detail, creativity, and powerful composition. The artwork showcases Rihanna’s technical skill as well as her ability to convey emotion and strength through visual art.

The Congressional Art Competition provides young artists with an opportunity to have their work recognized at a high level, and first‑place selections represent the very best from each district. Rihanna’s achievement is a point of pride for Jefferson County High School and Jefferson County Schools as a whole.
